Viewing and Funeral Arrangements for Baltimore City Firefighter Allan M. Roberts

   A brother to all members of the Baltimore City Fire Department, Firefighter Allan M. Roberts lost his life in the line of duty fighting an early morning row house fire in Greektown in the 500 block of South Macon Street. He was 40 years old and is a resident of Belcamp, Maryland. He leaves behind his wife Teresa and four children Daniel (18 mos.), Jacob (5), Katie (11) and Samantha (13).

  A 19 year veteran, Firefighter Allan entered the Department on April 20, 1987. He was then assigned to Engine Company #37 where he served for more than two years. From there, Firefighter Allan transferred to Truck Company #26 in August of 1989 where he served honorably for almost 18 years until his death.

  In 1994 Allan was commended for his heroic efforts by saving the life of an infant during an apartment fire. For his efforts, Allan was recognized with the Exemplary Performance Award, an award given to a member for displaying outstanding proficiency in the performance of emergency.

  Because of his interest in Information Technology, Firefighter Allan also served briefly for BCFD IT in a much needed role as the Fire Department was just beginning to invest in and build its Information Technology Division. Allan served the IT Division for almost nine months from May 2003 through February 2004.
